National Hmong Grave Desecration Committee - Update

The NHGDC held their third annual conference in Fresno, CA, over the weekend of March 28-29. Yee Xiong was able to attend and support the Committee. Vang Xiong, a long-time community leader from Spokane, is the NHGDC Chairman, and leads a national team in seeking a peaceful and just solution to the grave desecration in Thailand.

The NHGDC website is up www.nhgdc.org. Please visit the website to learn more on the facts of the issue, the progress of the Committee, the different organizations working together to resolve this issue, the solution proposed by the NHGDC, and more.

Hmong National Conference in the NorthWest

HAW has been approached by Hmong National Development to submit a bid to host the Hmong National Conference. HAW will be looking at the logistics of making this happen.

HAW has also communicated HND’s interest to the Hmong community in Portland, OR, to see if they are interested in also submitting a bid.

Will it happen in Seattle? HAW hopes so because this will be a big boost for our community and for Seattle to be able to host such a large event.

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can be involved, please contact HAW.
